One area where liberals have historically taken an expansive perspective is in the realm of problem resolution. They explore with open-minded alacrity the same options conservatives would dismiss out of hand. For a rigid right-winger in Dallas, the trip to Houston means a short drive south. Though for a liberal, it is as likely to mean sled dogs over the Arctic. If going north, down, and around is the only way to stay on The Narrative path, then the choice is really more rational than it seems.
One of the more illustrative examples of this may be found in the lachrymose laments of the education establishment regarding the obstinate performance gap between students of various races. The most appalling to liberals being the white/black gulf in test scores. Of course few tears are shed over racial chasms on the varsity basketball team, though that is because our acceptable baseline is for blacks to be equal or greater. 100 is as fine as 50, it just can’t be 49. We set a floor for blacks and a ceiling for whites, with both always evolving in opposite directions. Though we expect people to be polite enough to keep that observation to themselves.
At any rate, a great many hands are wrung across the country every time a new litter of test scores reveals this recalcitrant divide. Whites scoring higher simply won’t do. So liberals have taken the northern route to Houston. That is to say, they try to promptly elevate black intellectual output. A task nature herself has approached with languid deliberation.
In contrast, I have made the obvious point that if The Gap is as singularly vexing as implied, then its elimination is a relatively simple task. White performance can be reduced much more efficiently than black performance can be raised. Deny the former educational resources–or food, sleep, and medical care for that matter. Perhaps teach students utter fabrications…or even more utter. Maybe induce a series of head traumas…hell I don’t know, they’re the experts. The point being that if oak trees and ragweeds must be of similar height, the most feasible tool is a chainsaw.
Of course, the left hasn’t limited its quixotic combat to the classroom. Issues of state and nation have been similarly decided. The goal of maintaining a semblance of domestic tranquility being a prime example. The shorter path of traditionally homogenous societies has been chucked (and cucked) out of consideration in favor of bankrupt petri-dish surveillance states. The latter being admittedly a bit more circuitous in effect.
With all that as precedent, it’s interesting to now watch liberals adopt a more utilitarian philosophy in their cultural contouring. We’ve written previously of ongoing thought control experiments designed to relieve Westerners of their native faculties. But those were merely attempts to manipulate the mind, not disable it outright. Well apparently the left is growing increasingly enthusiastic about exploring shorter paths.
A bizarre experiment claims to be able to make Christians no longer believe in God and make Britons open their arms to migrants in experiments some may find a threat to their values.
Using a technique called transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), researchers safely [safely for the researchers] shut down certain groups of neurones in the brains of volunteers.
Researchers found the technique radically altered religious perceptions and prejudice.
Belief in God was reduced almost by a third, while participants became 28.5 per cent less bothered by immigration numbers.

Dr Keise Izuma, from the University of York, said: “People often turn to ideology when they are confronted by problems.
“We wanted to find out whether a brain region that is linked with solving concrete problems, like deciding how to move one’s body to overcome an obstacle, is also involved in solving abstract problems addressed by ideology.”
The scientists targeted the posterior medial frontal cortex, a brain region a few inches up from the forehead that is associated with detecting and responding to problems.
“As expected, we found that when we experimentally turned down the posterior medial frontal cortex, people were less inclined to reach for comforting religious ideas despite having been reminded of death.”
The American participants were also shown two essays written by newly arrived immigrants – one highly complimentary of the US and the other extremely critical.
Dr Izuma said: “When we disrupted the brain region that usually helps detect and respond to threats, we saw a less negative, less ideologically motivated reaction to the critical author and his opinions.”

Shut it down, indeed. Something tells me the racial test-score gap is on the cusp of radical attenuation. Though the conclusion of this research is obvious to those still in possession of undisrupted cortices. Healthy, fully-functioning brains are alert to threats, and thus display a wide range of contemporarily proscribed isms. Which leaves one tantalizing option: engineered brain damage. If you can’t readily turn the world’s flotsam into genteel Jeffersonian democrats, you can perhaps make their hosts unable to even notice.
And that’s the quickest route to Houston.
