La Dolce Vita

I’ve always thought no common conviction has ever been so painfully disabused as the one that concludes with: It will never get that bad. Were epitaphs written for candor rather than comfort, It Got That Bad would be the most deployed inscription. Millions of cold remains will corroborate the assertion.

With that in mind, I wonder how many Europeans devote some minutes of their day to reflecting on what very-near future their treasonous leadership is cultivating. On Africa disgorging her boundless eggsac onto their open shores. On what the Islamists will do when numbers grow sufficient. On what austerity can truly come to mean as they are dispossessed. If the answer is few, then certainly the jihadis themselves can’t be blamed for a deficit of effort. Nor for obfuscation, as their language and actions have both been admirably forthright. If mere severed heads won’t attract attention, wait until one of them rolls down the steps wearing this:

Springtime in Rome.

Last weekend in Italy, as the threat of ISIS in Libya hit home with a new video addressed to “the nation signed with the blood of the cross” and the warning, “we are south of Rome,” Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi shuttered the Italian embassy in Tripoli and raised his fist with the threat of impending military action. Never mind that Italy has only 5,000 troops available that are even close to deployable, according to the defense ministry.

If that muster strength is true, it’s staggering. Varo and Paullus managed to get some 80,000 Roman infantry slaughtered at Cannae. Now only 5,000 to field? I suppose the fortunate aspect is that most of those are safely out of danger while dredging the Mediterranean for spare immigrants. Though there are other options than only military. If ISIS wants to simply await the progression of math, Italy will offer herself in weeds. But those boys don’t really seem the patient type.

In October, the group dedicated the cover of its Dabiq magazine to a story called “Reflections on the Final Crusade” about how it will conquer Rome, complete with a photo of a black jihadist flag flying over St. Peter’s Square. “We will conquer your Rome, break your crosses, and enslave your women, by the permission of Allah, the Exalted. If we do not reach that time, then our children and grandchildren will reach it, and they will sell your sons as slaves at the slave market,” said the article in Dabiq. “Every Muslim should get out of his house, find a crusader and kill him… And the Islamic State will remain until its banner flies over Rome.”

I’m guessing the Dabiq mag is doing quite a bit better than Newsweek these days. And I’m sure all that bumf about enslaving women and killing “crusaders” is for rhetorical effect only. What they really mean is a noble minority struggle against white christian patriarchy…with scimitars.

But I am slightly concerned over the mention of their children flying the black flag over St. Peters. I thought they were coming to Europe to support The Economy and pay taxes to keep old barren white people on the golf course. That is what you’re going to do, isn’t it Ahmed?

  1. Something I’ve always wondered is, if the USA collapsed tomorrow, would there be a revival in European nationalism? I suspect that there would be. As it stands now, of course, any European nation foolish enough to stand up for itself would be swiftly brought to heel by Chris Kyle et al.

Speaking of which, given the admirable nature of Chris Kyle’s character, I can’t be the only person who found his story doubly tragic considering the fact that he was fighting on behalf of an empire – ‘Merica – who hates his guts.

    • I concur with your suspicion. Given free range of movement, a man may or may not rise to his feet. But so long as a heel resides on his neck, the issue is largely decided.

Agreed also on Kyle. The military boasts thousands of valiant men whose competence and intellect are in service to their own enemy.

  2. Italy, as with most south European countries, has an ambient level of corruption and concurrent individual distrust that serves as a natural bulwark against the kind of groupthink observed in suicidally leftist states. I imagine the first European country to fall in the new crusades, would also be the one most uniform in dogmatic adherence to the multicultural paradigm and hence most deserving – Sweden. When Sweden falls, and it will, the rest of Europe will truly understand the level of betrayal wrought by its bureaucratic elite.
